Jon Holmes – Chief Executive Officer

Jon Holmes

Under Jon’s skilful and visionary leadership, Michelson Diagnostics Ltd has rapidly grown from a fledgling start-up  in 2006, to the thriving company it is today. He has masterminded five rounds of investment, and his strategy for growth has enabled the company to achieve all of its milestones to date, on time and on budget. Jon was previously Business Director of the Biomedical Group at Sira, the instrumentation R&D company, and was Director of the Smart Optics Faraday Partnership.


Paul Grafham – Finance Director

Unknown 1Paul, a qualified ACMA, has over 16 years’ experience in finance departments, with over ten of those years spent in senior, board level roles, working in a variety of market sectors. Recent Finance Director positions have provided Paul with the opportunity to gain significant international exposure, and experience the challenges associated with rapid growth and restructuring. Paul has worked for both private equity backed companies and NASDAQ listed companies, including over 5 years as International Finance Director with a medical laser company.


Martin Johns – Operations Director

Martin JohnsMartin is very experienced project manager, with a CV that includes several large product developments at previous employers Image Automation Ltd and GEC. His planning skills and attention to quality have already been demonstrated through the successful development, CE mark and FDA 510(k) clearance of the VivoSight OCT topical product, and through the company obtaining its ISO13485 certificate.


Gordon McKenzie – Clinical Development Director

Gordon McKenzieGordon has fourteen years experience in the field of biomedical optics, including a PhD in the interaction of laser light with tissue under Prof. Bryanston-Cross. Since co-founding Michelson, Gordon has established an extensive network of senior clinical and health sector contacts, and is an expert at working in the interface between clinicians and technologists. Gordon’’s key role is to manage the clinical trials process that will prove the efficacy of OCT in disease management.


Peter Roettger – Managing Director, Michelson Diagnostics GmbH, Germany

Unknown 3Peter is an experienced manager in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and medtech industry. He worked for Alcon, Novartis and Abbott Diagnostics in responsible management positions, launched innovative products and developed new markets for cutting edge technologies. For more than 14 years Peter supported the market access strategies of international companies as a Consultant and Advisor.

He joined Michelson Diagnostics as a Consultant at the beginning of 2011 and was instrumental in the first successful steps into the German dermatologic market. In his new role as Managing Director of Michelson Diagnostics GmbH he is playing a key role to make VivoSight OCT Scanner a widely used routine tool in dermatologic clinics and to foster the relations to important opinion leaders.


Daniel Woods – Account Development Manager

Unknown 2Dan previously worked in the University of Leiden Medical Center where he designed speckle flowmetry technologies for obstetric surgeries. He has eight years experience in the field of OCT, and received his PhD from the Biomedical Optics group at the University of Kent at Canterbury. The optical processing techniques he designed there are still generating new publications to this day.
